Treasures Beyond Measure

Writers

Sharon

Sharon Kay is a mother, grandmother and retired pediatric nurse. She is married to Terry and lives near the shores of Lake Erie just over the Michigan state line. She is also a survivor and overcomer of abuse in many forms. She found hope and strength in her faith in Jesus Christ. God directed her to seek knowledge about the cycle of abuse and how to break free from unhealthy patterns that many victims of abuse become comfortable with. God renewed her mind that she was created by Him and was valued and loved. As she found healing and freedom in Christ she was set on a path to help others find the same truths that she had found in her faith in God. She also began to pray for her children that the generational dysfunction would change to a healthy way of living in their lives and her grandchildren as well. She has seen God’s faithfulness in answered prayers. She empowered herself with God’s help to become just who He created her to be.

Angela

Angela Westfall is mother to four children and a survivor of domestic violence, sexual abuse and the suicide loss of her 17 year old son. She is eternally grateful for her heavenly father who literally pulled her out of the pit and set her feet upon a rock. She works full-time as a Talent Acquisition Manager for a company that provides services for autistic children and single parenting of two still at home 6 and 8 years old. She loves to worship, spend time in the word, be with her children, enjoy God’s creation, knit, read and garden.

Angela met Sharon at church where the Lord brought them together to comfort each other and I saw the hope after trauma in Sharon and was inspired. I am humbled that she has asked me to contribute to her blog and our prayer is that we can be a voice and resource for women who are still in the valley and reach out with God’s help.

There Is Hope,You Are Loved!

We all have a need to be loved and feel like our life matters to someone. Children who feel safe, secure and loved thrive into emotionally healthy adults so much better than children who receive mixed messages about their value as a person. I can speak from experience as a child in dysfunctional circumstances from…

The Secret Place

As I struggled to find my own identity after years of trauma and abuse I found strength in the secret place of prayer. I found significance as I pursued a deeper faith in the One who loves me most. God became my safe place where I was loved unconditionally because of God sending Jesus, His…
