If you are in an abusive relationship, please seek help. Abuse comes in many forms, all forms are unhealthy to your well being and also destructive to other people/children exposed to it. Emotional, verbal, and physical abuse are the main forms and they are generally progressive in nature, meaning the abuse gets worse as time goes forward. Abuse never gets better without intervention and can be very dangerous to everyone in the home. We can empower ourselves with knowledge and seeking help to live free from abuse. You are valuable and worthy to be treated well and humanely. Many people, mostly women have lost their lives because they stayed in an abusive relationship. The fear of my children not having a mother because of domestic violence is what motivated me to leave and seek help. You deserve to feel safe.
www.domesticshelters.org is a website that will help you find a safe place to be in your local area and also find resources to recover from the abuse and empower yourself with knowledge to make lifetime changes for your emotional health and well being. One step at a time is all it takes to stop the cycle of being a victim of domestic abuse to a survivor of it.
Abuse isn’t just physical, control and manipulation are very destructive as well, these are forms of emotional abuse and should be taken just as seriously as physical abuse. Healthy disagreements are normal in all relationships but demeaning behaviors that cause fear are not okay. Only you can decide to make changes to better your life, you are worthy and valued and deserve to live safe.
I encourage you with all my heart to take care of you by being brave and make the changes you need to be safe.

Please reach out for prayer if you want someone to agree with you about your concerns. Below is a resource list of prayer support teams of dedicated people who love God, and also love and care about people. Always remember God will hear you when you call out to Him, you don’t have to call a prayer support line for God to hear you when you pray (just talk to Him). Although, praying with other people can join our hearts and speak faith in a situation to believe in God and the power of prayer! God loves and cares about you and will help you as you trust in Him.
I have found He doesn’t always give me what I want but He always gives me just what I need. I take great refuge in His word and have leaned on many different verses for many years when I have concerns and difficulties in life.
I Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
It’s hard to see clearly when anxiety is controlling your mind, but trusting in God and His plans have a way of settling the heart. It’s hard to understand the peace that passes all understanding until you experience it personally. My friend, it’s a good place to be trusting in the hands of a mighty God who loves us and holds our tomorrows in His faithful hands.
