When Hallelujah is Hard

The questions without answers. Why is this happening? Why is God allowing this trauma to happen to me? Why did God take my son, why didn’t he intervene and stop him from killing himself? The why questions could go on and on, just like a 3 year old, we want to know all the answers to why.

It is in the seasons of questioning, hurting, pain where we make a choice. Some choose to blame God, walk away and turn to anything else that we think will take away the pain. Others, myself included, acknowledge that I will never have the answer to many of my why’s this side of heaven and instead of turning my back, I lean into God to hold me through the hurt.

1 Peter 5:10 “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”

Everyone is looking around trying to find the answers, asking Google or Chatgpt, watching video after video of how other people are enduring the tragedies and pains of life, but dear reader, the search is so easy, it is all in one book, where the God of the universe speaks His love, His promise, His healing word over your life IF you let Him. He gave us free will, the human race chose defiance, disobedience and allegance to evil in our hearts, but our God loves us so much, that He made a way for all of us to be saved, restored to Him and the promise of life in eternity, Jesus.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Nothing in this world can compare to the love that Jesus has for us. We can have it now, if we just ask. This is the question that will be answered this side of heaven, “Jesus, will you come into my life and heart? Forgive me of all of my sin and cleanse me. Hold me close.” His answer to this is always the same, Yes!

Matthew 11: 28-30 Jesus says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Reader, when it feels the hardest to reach up and raise a Hallelujah to Jesus, that is when it is often when you need to reach for Him the most.

Peace, Love and Hallelujah,

Angela K
