In this busy world that just keeps spinning with all of life’s challenges there is a deep need that we all have to find our source of balance. I have found that seeking God with all my heart brings me to a place of calm, no matter what’s going on around me. It can be the most chaotic happenings and when I focus my attention to faith in the One who loves me and created me at this specific time in history, I have this feeling that every little thing is gonna be alright as I trust Him.
In many ways, I am thankful for my many difficult experiences in life, sounds crazy but it was those hardships that stirred a deep desire within me to know God. To figure out what I was created for, if there was some reason for my life to exist? I was the result of an unwanted pregnancy, a non-consensual action that changed my mother’s life and then came me. Later, my stepfather was abusive in many ways, then a long term abusive marriage. All of these events led me to seek God’s face and His heart.
As I began to go deeper in my faith in Jesus Christ, I began to experience His healing and profound love. I found wisdom in reading God’s word in context, which simply means taking in account of when and who it was written to. Much of it is history, much is instruction and guidance in living out life that pleases God, but it all points to Jesus, the Savior of mankind.
I had a dream recently and in my dream I asked God what do you want me to say to the people in my life, to the world I come in contact with, and He spoke to me in my dream;“Tell them to seek my face.” That was it and I awoke. Later that day I opened my Bible to read;
Psalm 27:8, “When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face Lord I will seek.”
I have no idea what you’ve been through my friend, but whether you’ve had an easy or hard way to go in life there is still a place in your heart that can only be satisfied with a relationship with God. You were born at this specific time in history and God created you with purpose to enjoy the life He gave you and ultimately to find Him and His plans for your life.
I found my first and foremost purpose in life is to seek Him first, to know Him as best I can while I’m alive. It is truly an amazing adventure to seek God in spirit and in truth and to worship Him with all my heart, soul and strength. I also found purpose in helping others heal from being abused in life and post abortion healing. God will use our lives when we offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to be used for His purposes, which is to love Him and to love people.
”Surely God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord is my strength and my song, He has become my salvation” Isaiah 12:2
”Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33.
I encourage you to seek His face, and be aware this is a spiritual journey that we must open our heart to hear with our hearts, our minds and souls. I promise His word is truth and light to our basic need to know our Creator, the Giver of life. And He is a rewarder of those who seek Him diligently, according to His word.
Hebrews 11:6, “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, because anyone who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Seek Him with all your heart my friend, and you will find Him and also peace like a river of living water that washes away all the sorrows of life, the heartbreak of what sin does to humanity. Your sin, my sin, and yes, even those who have sinned against you and me. In forgiveness, I found freedom to let go of painful memories and trust that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called for His purposes. Romans 8:28. Seek His face dear friends. He loves you the most!
In His Love, Sharon Kay
